What does Port de Sóller offer?

The restaurant specialises in sea food and is well-known for its selection of excellent local wines For a change of scenery visitors take the vintage tram from the port through a valley laden with olive, lemon and orange groves to Sóller town and enjoy some tapas in one of the bars on the main square.  Sports enthusiasts are lost for choice here in the port, scuba-diving centres offer courses for beginners and diving excursions for the experienced. Various companies offer the possibility to charter a boat for the day and explore the stunning coastline. The less sporty can able amble along the promenade and enjoy retail therapy on Mallorca. Although shopping is quite limited as Port de Sóller is a small village, there are a few chic boutiques with the latest fashion and local products such as the famous marmalades, extra virgin olive oil and local charcuterie are offered in charming grocery stores. The weekly market takes place in Sóller town on Saturday mornings.

Culture and history

The procession to honour the Mare de Deu del Carmen, the patron of all sea faring people takes place on the 15th of July in Port de Sóller. If you are fortunate to be in town on this day, you will experience a fantastic fiesta day and the procession of boats in the bay. The other fiesta to experience is the re-enactment of the historical battle between the Arab pirates and Christians which takes place on the beach in Port de Sóller in the second May week. The Annual Classical Music Festival in the port attracts many top international performers; concerts take place in the Santa Catalina Monastery in September and October.
